Sailing week with skipper in Cote d´Azur - Best places near Monaco
The Principality of Monaco is the main starting point for our full days on a sailing and motor boat, our weekends on a sailing boat and our sailing holidays with skipper on the Côte d'Azur and Corsica.
In today's article we will discuss the most beautiful anchorages in the area between Monaco and Cap Ferrat.
As soon as you leave one of the ports of Monaco or the port of Cap d'Ail, located right on the border between France and the Principality, the bow usually turns to the west to head towards the splendid anchorages in the area.
The first one is that of the small bay that encloses the plage de la Mala, a magnificent cove well sheltered from the east dominated by high rocky cliffs overlooking the sea. Below these cliffs, on the left side of the bay, there is a cave that can be easily reached by swimming or using the various watertoys that all our sailing and motor boats are equipped with such as SUPs, canoes, seascooters and others. From the top of the cave it is also possible to dive for fun and shoot sensational videos. On the beach we find two very chic restaurants: the Reserve de la Mala and Eden Plage where you can enjoy excellent lunches and aperitifs by going ashore with the tender or accompanied by the beach taxiboat.
Continuing sailing towards the west, you will cross the small bay of Eze sur Mer, a typical anchorage of many maxi yachts that always populate the area.On the beach we find two very chic restaurants: the Reserve de la Mala and Eden Plage where you can enjoy excellent lunches and aperitifs by going ashore with the tender or accompanied by the beach taxiboat.
Continuing sailing towards the west, you will cross the small bay of Eze sur Mer, a typical anchorage of many maxi yachts that always populate the area. On the beach, reachable by tender or with the dedicated taxiboat, we find Anjuna beach, one of the most popular places in the entire Côte d'Azur at the moment. You can have lunch ashore and then take part in the funniest party in the area.
After Eze sur Mer, you quickly reach the town of Beaulieu sur Mer with its beaches and the port, behind which there is a jetty used to do all types of watersports, from electric surfing with foils (very fun), to water skiing and wakeboarding, towing inflatables. Here too, fun is guaranteed!
Leaving Beaulieu, after passing the small port of Les Fourmis, you reach a small cove called "Lo Scoglietto", famous for hosting the beautiful "pied dans l'eau" villa that once belonged to David Niven, the well-known English actor.
After the bay of David Niven, always with the bow to the west, you pass the small port of Saint Jean - Cap Ferrat, a small coastal village, beautiful and famous all over the world for being frequented by all the richest and most powerful families on the planet. Here we find the villa of the Rothschild family, that of the Campari family and many others. Saint Jean is the municipality that holds the record for the highest price per square meter in the world for real estate. The villas and the rich are never in bad places, in fact Cap Ferrat is a true corner of paradise.
Near the port of Saint Jean, nestled on a small beach at the foot of the cape, is the famous Paloma beach with its restaurant that can be reached by swimming, by SUP, by tender or by the beach taxiboat.
Our skippers, knowing the area to perfection, will take you to discover the most beautiful and lesser known glimpses and anchorages in the area, making your boat holiday in this area unforgettable!
